A detailed model of the Hunslet 16in size 0-6-0 saddle tank engines built for many collieries and quarry companies with 44 locomotives built from 1923 until 1958. Many of these engines were supplied after WW2, so were still in use as the preservation societies started up, resulting in many being purchased in working order for a new life hauling passengers.
This model is finished as Hunslet works number 2375 John Shaw in NCB lined green livery. Built in 1942 this engine was supplied to the South Kirby Coal Company.

Highly detailed model of the South Eastern & Chatham standard design of 7 plank open wagon. The prototype wagon built in 1915 to test the new design which featured a steel underframe production wagons were built from 1919 to 1927 by the SECR and Southern, with a total of 2,121 wagons constructed. Most lasted into British Railways ownership, with 70 being recorded in regular service traffic in the 1960s and the last examples withdrawn in the early 1970s.

The 'Iron Mink' is one of the most recognisable GWR wagon types from the end of the 19th century, with over 4,700 examples constructed between 1886 and 1901. Both underframe and body were built from iron and steel, creating a robust and long-lived wagon, with examples surviving into the 1960s. The metal construction made the design ideal for use as Gunpowder vans, wagons to the same style being used by other railway companies and private owners.
This model is finished GWR goods grey livery with 25in height lettering, as applied 1904-1920.

Several of the South Wales railway companies followed the GWR in adopting the Iron Mink for their own fleet of ventilated box vans. There were usually detail differences between the GWR wagons and those of the other operators, allowing the origins of these vans to be deduced even after the South Wales fleets were integrated with the GWRs own Iron Minks at the grouping.
This model is finished in the brown livery of the Taff Vale Railway, wagon number 5352.

Wagons constructed to the the iron mink design were offered by several private wagon builders, with wagons being constructed for railway companies and private operators. Cement companies purchased a significant number of these wagons, the iron bodies offering a very good level of weather protection, essential for a load which needed to arrive perfectly dry.

Highly detailed model of the APT-E experimental Advanced Passenger Train test train from the early 1970s.
This 4-car test train was powered by gas turbines and incorporated a number of features being developed for the proposed next generation of British express passenger trains. Test runs were operated on the Great Western mainline between 1973 and 1975, with the experimental train being sent to the NRM at York for preservation in 1976.

The Maunsell/Lynes underframe was used for the entire planned range of SECR standard wagons, being common with the 5 and 7 plank open wagons, timber bolster trucks and the new design of engineers ballast wagons. An order was issued in 1918 for the conversion of 300 vans to boost the fleet of meat vans during WW1, the diagram X6 vans having added insulation and the end bonnet vents sealed, though not removed to allow reconversion back to ventilated vans. For at least 285 of these conversions the extra insulation was retained as in 1922 these vans were further adapted as insulated and steam heated vans for banana traffic.

Several of the South Wales railway companies followed the GWR in adopting the Iron Mink for their own fleet of ventilated box vans. There were usually detail differences between the GWR wagons and those of the other operators, allowing the origins of these vans to be deduced even after the South Wales fleets were integrated with the GWRs own Iron Minks at the grouping.

Wagons constructed to the the iron mink design were offered by several private wagon builders, with wagons being constructed for railway companies and private operators. Cement companies purchased a significant number of these wagons, the iron bodies offering a very good level of weather protection, essential for a load which needed to arrive perfectly dry. Many of these vans found their way into fleet of the British Portland Cement Manufacturers (BPCM) conglomerate, best known by it's Blue Circle Cement marketing logo. BPCM's bright yellow 'Blue Circle' iron minks had long lives, being a common sight in the early British Railway period before being replaced with more modern wagons in the 1960s.

A new model of the GWR diagram AA20 goods train brake van, coded Toad, which was introduced in 1934.
This Rapido Trains model has been designed using works drawings and incorporates a number of different optional fittings to replicate variations between individual vehicles including different roof rain strips, different height footboards and different wheelsets. The model includes a full interior alongside a removable roof.
The requirement for brakevans on fully-fitted trains ended in 1968 but that didn’t mean the end of the ‘Toads’. Many were adopted by the engineering departments who found the plate-sided verandah ideal for transporting tools, while the cabin made an ideal mess van. A large number of GWR ‘Toads’ including several AA20s have been preserved.

In 1913 the first of these new design vans was built as a trial vehicle using the new SECR standard steel underframe designed by C&W engineer Lionel Lynes and debuting the distinctive tri-arc roof body which was to become a feature of Southern Railway covered wagons.
The Maunsell/Lynes underframe was used for the entire planned range of SECR standard wagons, being common with the 5 and 7 plank open wagons, timber bolster trucks and the new design of engineers ballast wagons. This robust steel frame game all these wagons long working lives, with most reaching British Railways service and some lasting into the 1970s in engineering service.
